Happy 3 months!

February 1, 2007

I’m a few days late, but oh well. 🙂 I can’t believe Samuel and Kaylee are already three months old! It seems like yesterday that I was in that freezing cold operating room waiting for their arrival.

The doctor said we could start Samuel on a little bit of rice cereal because he was wanting to eat like every two hours! Every day he gets a little better with the spoon. He is doing a lot better than I thought he would. Samuel is getting a lot stronger everyday. When I lay him on the Boppy pillow, he pulls his head forward and lifts his shoulders off of the pillow like he is trying to sit up. Kaylee tries to do that too, but she can only lift her head. Samuel can also almost push him self all the way up when he is on his tummy. He also loves to talk, especially in the morning when he wakes up. He just doesn’t want to be a baby. *shakes head*

Kaylee, of course, is getting more beautiful everyday. She at least still wants to be a baby, so she’ll sit still long enough for me to take pictures of her. It’s really kinda sad…I have more “cute” pictures of Kaylee only because she doesn’t constantly move around. Samuel just makes funny faces. Oh well, I guess girls are supposed to sit there and look pretty and boys are supposed to be silly and make faces. 🙂 Oh, and Kaylee randomly decided to start sleeping in her own bed instead of the swing! YAY!

The cutest thing?

I think it might be. Here is a video of Kaylee talking to Christopher. Oh, and if you listen closely Samuel gives his two cents as well. 🙂

Picture Time!

I forgot to mention that Samuel and Kaylee are going to be in my sister’s wedding this summer! We are going to dress them up in cute little outfits, put them in a little white wagon, and my brother (the ring bearer) will walk them down the aisle. HOW CUTE WILL THAT BE???

I’m glad Kaylee wants to be a baby because Samuel sure doesn’t. We are going to have our hands full with that sweet little boy. He’s so busy all of the time, even when he is sleeping. We still have to swaddle him a little because he will work his way out of the blanket if we don’t. Then he gets cold and wakes himself up. Lovely. 😉 He slept a whopping 12 hours last night! I couldn’t believe it! I hope he keeps doing that, especially now that Chris is starting his new job. That will help out a lot.

Kaylee is sleeping better as well. She slept for 8 hours last night! I don’t think she is going to stop talking once she starts. She loves to coo and make noises at you when you talk to her. Samuel makes one noise…ooo…he sounds like an owl. 🙂 They are so cute!

Two month status:
Samuel – 11 pounds 10 ounces – 22 inches long
Kaylee – 10 pounds 5 ounces – 22 inches long

They are getting so big, I don’t like it. If they could stay this little and snuggly…but feed themselves, talk and be potty trained…Oh I would have about 35 of them. Haha.

Two early Christmas presents!

December 21, 2006

Well, we might only have one early Christmas present. It all depends on Samuel and Kaylee. The past two nights they have slept ALL night long! Praise God! I feel like a new person now that I’ve had some decent sleep. Hopefully they will continue to sleep through the night. That will be the best Christmas present! The other early present is from our photographer and a family from Live Oak. I won a $100 gift certificate from the photographer by guessing the correct answer to the riddle on her blog. Well, today she e-mailed me and said that Sandy told her that Chris had been laid off and that she wanted to do something nice for us. They gave us a $150 print order credit so that we can order some of the pictures that Stephanie took of the twins! I thought that was the coolest thing! I’m going to save the $100 gift certificate until they are about 6 months old, and have their pictures taken again. You can look at Stephanie’s pictures here. Samuel and Kaylee were models for her newborn portfolio.

On a side note, I’m so excited about American Idol. I’m addicted to that show. I’m not sure why, but I am. It starts in just a few weeks. I can’t wait!

Well, I’ve decided to start a new blog. This way I can post pictures of the babies and give updates on them. Speaking of pictures, here are a couple pictures of Samuel and Kaylee in their Christmas outfits.

Poor Samuel, he hated the little Santa hat. Every time I would put it on him, he would get fussy. I think I got more pictures of him getting mad than anything else. Haha. Kaylee took all kinds of cute pictures. Tomorrow Chris’ mom and I are going to try and take their picture together. They are so much fun. I never realized how fast these little ones would grow up. They will two months old on the 23rd! I can’t believe it.

So, I think I’ve decided to take up photography. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed, and now I have a semi-decent camera and two precious babies to take pictures of instead of my poor dogs. I think I want to take a class this summer if time and funds permit. 🙂 I enjoy it and I can do it as a hobby or as a job which is super cool.
